Artist Jessica Sugai:
I am a self employed artist that uses mainly watercolor. My art centers around the darkness in nightmares and dreams and transforming them into odd beauties.
I graduated with my Bachelors of Fine Arts in the spring of 2014 with an emphasis in drawing from the University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma. I can use acrylic, watercolor, oil, and inks. I also have dealt with print making, photography, sculpture and pottery. I enjoy new challenges with art whether it be in concept or execution.
Growing up my father would read me and my siblings stories of Tarzan and John Carter Warlord of Mars and my sister would draw what she thought they looked like. Not one to be left behind I started to draw as well. I ended up enjoying drawing so much it stuck with me throughout all my life driving me to choose it as my major in college. In college my art bloomed and my choice of colors and subject matter changed. I pulled inspiration from many things but music really stuck out for me. Almost each folder is linked to a song or a sound that drove me to produce something based off the wonders of the musical art form.
Now that I have graduated from my schooling and am making my way through the world I notice my love of art is only growing.
